I will stamp all over 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
